It is a new year and a new day. God has entered the world Incarnate embodied, present, dwelling among us. We do not simply begin another calendar cycle; we step into Epiphany, standing beneath light that reveals, awakens, and calls us toward deeper purpose. The Magi, who are sages and carriers of wisdom, followed that light until revelation broke open before them. Epiphany reminds us that God still illuminates paths, expands consciousness, and invites us into new ways of seeing and living.
Through a Motherist lens, Epiphany becomes more than an event; it is a maternal presence. Like a Mother, Epiphany guides, protects, nurtures, and directs us spiritually and physically, inwardly and outwardly. The Divine does not simply shine above us; She accompanies us, tending the journey of our becoming with care, patience, and fierce love.
This year, I invite us not to chase resolutions that fade, but to tend the light within. Let the Epiphany flame burn steadily in body, mind, and spirit. Allow God’s light to shape your choices, your relationships, your emotional life, and even your frustrations. When we begin the year with renewed vision, open hearts, and grounded hope, we align ourselves with the world God desires for us and through us.
My prayer is that this year brings blessing, healing, clarity, and strength. May everything from 2025 that wounded, diminished, or left us feeling stuck remain behind us. Let us step forward with courage. Let us choose to celebrate life wherever it appears. Let us speak life, practice love, and cultivate joy not as denial, but as faithful resistance to despair.
This is the season of Epiphany: the revealing light, the maternal guidance, the holy illumination that led the Magi to the Christ Child the Anointed One. May that same radiant, nurturing light rest upon us, dwell within us, and lead us forward into God’s unfolding grace.
